Off the needles ... A Yarn Along Post

Joining Ginny today at Small Things

I love small projects that knit up quickly. Boot cuffs have been on my knitting 'wish list' for some time now, so I found a lovely chunky wool blend and a cute pattern off Ravelry and got to it.

I loved knitting this pair up - so quick and easy. Now of course I have loads of requests from my daughters :o) They make a really great addition to your autumn and winter wardrobe!

Still on the needles :: Some lovely rib and cabled fingerless mitts for the autumn. The yarn is Drops Alpaca and is simply lovely to work with. It is so soft and warm!

I think these mitts may stay on hold for another week or so as I am quite addicted to boot cuffs at the mo ;)

Reading :: I'm reading 'Old Farmhouse Recipes' by Alison Uttley. I'm wanting to find some traditional, tried and tested recipes for harvested fruits from the garden and hedgerows. I have not actually started looking through this book yet so I have no idea if it is actually has what I am looking for :o)

Happy Wednesday to you all...

  4. Oooh I just bought some extra yarn to make some wrist warmers - wonder will I have enough to make me a pair of matching boot cuffs? Lovely knitting.

  5. The title "Off of the Needles" really piqued my interest. It feels so good to say so, doesn't it?! The boot cuffs look great - it's funny I've been meaning to make a pair for such a long time too. I have way too many sweaters but no mittens, hats or socks:) Great booklist too. Happy knitting!

  12. I like the cable-ly pattern on your boot cuffs. Yes, so cute. How fun to see that you have chosen a soft gray wool for fingerless mitts because I also have this color on my needles for the fingerless mitts I started awhile ago. Leg warmers under a skirt and fingerless mitts are worn by me indoors on the coldest of winter days here in the USA.
