Yarny News

Joining Ginny for Yarn Along

I LOVE the cooler weather - it makes knitting and crocheting just so much more of a cozy activity :) I love to make things that will keep my family warm through the cold winter months, the thought brings much joy to my heart.

Off the needles - I have finished my daughters GAP-tastic cowl. She loves it and it looks fantastic on her. This was an easy knit and whips up in next to no time.

Now that I have finished the cowl I have set my mind to making some Christmas gifts for friends and the girls art and dancing teachers. I'm starting off with some little crochet rose broaches, very quick to do and the are so pretty worn on your winter coat. I'm using Lucy from Attic 24's  'May Rose' pattern.

Reading: I have another lovely mystery on the go,  'A River in the Sky' by Elizabeth Peters. Think Miss Marple cross Indiana Jones here :)
I've only just started this book, only 1 chapter in so I will be sure to let you know what I think  and what it's about next week.

A quick footnote - yesterday I promised to let you know how the Slow Cooked Chicken Korma turned out. One word. DELICIOUS! Another winner ;)

Happy Wednesday all...

  3. that cowl is beautiful! I've knit that pattern before and the miles of seed stitch was a bit much for my hands, always moving the yarn :) However I was knitting with roving like wool that would catch when throwing the yarn back and forth, so maybe a different yarn would have been better for me.
