Early Autumn Mornings

Autumn by Emily Dickinson

The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on.

The Mist and All by Dixie Willson

I like the fall,
The mist and all.
I like the night owl's
Lonely call -
And wailing sound
Of wind around

Fog by Carl Sandburg

The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
 over harbour and city
on silent haunches
and then, moves on.

Loving these beautiful, delicate early autumn mornings... :o)
May your Monday be full of peace and joy.

  1. I love early mornings! That's lucky for me because I'm asleep for late evenings :)

    1. Me too Karen. There is something quite special about early mornings before the buzz of life begins!

  2. I love these photos (and the accompanying poetry), but I must confess that I am a bit jealous as it is still very hot here in Southern California! I'm longing for autumn to grace us with her presence! Thank you for letting me live vicariously through your blog! :)

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate each and every one left for me.
