Yarn Along - Summer Notebook

Joining Ginny today over at Small Things

I have temporarily swapped my  knitting needles for my crochet hook as I have been completely inspired by Lucy from Attic 24.  I just love the bright bold colours she uses in her work and her cute little quirky designs. When I saw her little birdy decoration I knew that I just HAD to make him...

I love how he turned out - he is hanging in my bathroom and I plan to make a few more to brighten up various little spots in my home. I think he would make a great little Christmas filler gift - don't you?

My big project on the go at the moment - also inspired by Lucy's work - is the bright granny strop blanket. I am loving the ease of this project and the gorgeous colours. I can't wait to see it finished up...

I'm reading 'Go Wild' by Fiona Danks and Jo Schofield. It is filled with great ideas to encourage children to explore the outdoors more. Now we do allot of outdoors - but am finding heaps of fun things to do while out and about. Lots of great memory builders here!

    1. I'm a very basic crocheter myself Donna - knitting needles are more my thing - but Attic24 is just so inspiring, couldn't help but pick up a hook :o)

  3. Oh, that afghan's gorgeous! I love Attic24. I generally don't care for photo-heavy blogs, but hers is somehow an exception to that rule - her photos are so pretty!

  7. I'm in love with the blanket, the colours are so cheery. I'll have to see if my library will be able to get hold of the book you've mentioned, it looks to be a good read.

  8. Yay! You've started your own granny stripe. I had such fun with mine. Isn't Lucy's blog just deliciously inspiring. I hope to make the birdies too ... one day.
