An egg! upon closer inspection, I saw that a hole had been pecked out the side. Inside the egg were the remains of an under-developed baby bird.
I can only surmise that this egg was stolen by one of the Magpies who frequent my feeder and deposited in the bush while feeding on the yummy fat balls we have on offer!
