Palm Sunday

Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,
 'Hosanna!'
'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!'
'Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!'
'Hosanna in the highest!
Jesus entered Jerusalem and went to the temple... Mark 11:8-11

It still strikes my heart deeply each time I read the account of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem, as scarcely a week later the same people are crying, 'crucify him!' The people's fickleness astounds me. It causes me to look back over my life to see when and where I showed the same fickle character, I am sure that there have been many times, especially in childhood when we are easily led by peers. It brings me to my knees as I pray for my Lord's strength, that I may never display such a shameful character trait as an adult.

Today marks the start. The start of Holy Week and the start of a new month. This week, in our family, we will be marking the journey of Christ from His entry into Jerusalem to His death and resurrection utilising Scripture Adventures, 'An Easter Adventure'. We have actually been using it throughout Lent, reading a bit more of the story each day, memorising scripture verses, singing songs of our Lords sacrifice. We have had 40 days of savouring the journey, of allowing the magnitude of what Jesus did for us to really sink in.  Holy week has been reserved for Easter crafting and baking. My intention is to post each day this week - just a little photo diary of what we are getting up to, whether it is crafting, baking or enjoying a bit of time in nature. As 'school' is out, we are looking forward to waking later and enjoying a slower pace of life - just for a little while ;o).

May your Holy Week be a blessed and special time in your homes as you prepare yourselves to celebrate our Lords great sacrifice.

Blessings in Christ...
