Blog Awards and Saturday Musings

Here we are at the end of another week. Right now I am indulging in a bit of blogging in bed time ;o). It does not happen often but with it being icy and cold outside, no commitments on the horizon, the occasional lazy Saturday morning is nice to indulge in.

Today I received two lovely blog awards. Thank you Rhoda for your nominations! I love Rhoda's blog, it is always an encouragement.

The original rules to accepting this award are (optional first of all, isn't that nice?) as follows:

1) Add a picture of the award to your post
2) Say 'Thank You' to the wonderful person who nominated you ;o)
3) Share seven random facts about yourself
4) nominate 15 (eek, I might have to compromise on this one otherwise I'll be here ALL day!) other bloggers and let them know.

and rules for accepting this one are:

1) Share 7 things about yourself
2) nominate 15 other bloggers for this award and let them know.

We are going to do a bit of a combining act here. The 7 things about me are:

1) I love crafts of many kind but get frustrated with myself when I see someone who seems to be dedicated to one and then end up feeling like I should be like that too ;o) - hmmm, some insecurities there??? I cannot seem to 'classify' myself -lol.

2) I love love love (now do not laugh!) stationary of all kinds. Really I do! I love looking at all the cute shaped post-its that Staples stock, new journals and lots of gadgetry filing, noting, writing and planning things.

3) The place I love being in the most would have to be the Scottish Highlands. The majestic sweeping views of the mountains and the lochs' are just so beautiful and bring incredible peace to my heart and soul.

4) I secretly harbour dreams of living in the highlands, overlooking those lochs' and having a writing career -lol. Well, not so secretly, my husband shares the love of the highlands with me ;o)

5) I really am not that keen on exercise. I know I should be and I know how good it is for you blah blah blah, but it is just so hard to get motivated to change and go for a run in the cold or wet - sunshine is meant for countryside rambles and fun with my children so that one is out! Gyms will never work - I have taken out gym contracts on more than one occasion only to end up paying for the remainder of the contracted time and not attending. So my body will have to be content with random (but frequent) country rambles.

6) Books - I love books. I am always on the look out for great books to add to our bookshelf. Having to get rid of most of my books before leaving South Africa was hard. But I am really surprised at how quickly we have accumulated a small library once again. Not a month goes by without me adding to our collection ;o) I have a great book to review for you - but that's another post.

7) I really love the beauty of nature and all that it is. I see God in His handiwork and cannot help but wonder at His greatness. I would love to be able to spend more time in my nature journal, improving my drawing and paining skills. Edith Holden is my inspiration in this area of 'wish list' skills ;o)

And for my blogger nominees - (please don't feel any pressure to take up this award, I simply admire and draw great inspiration from your blogs ;o)

1. Wildflowers and Marbles
2. Down in the Meadow
3. Loving Learning
4. Multicoloured Madness
5. Delivering Grace
6. Treasured up and Pondered
7. Grace in Loving Chaos
8. Nothing Ventured

Okay - that's about all I can manage, it really does take allot of time to nominate, visit and inform. These are all really very inspirational and beautiful places to visit, so please do.

Have a great week-end everyone.

  4. The Scottish Highlands are very beautiful. I was at university in Dundee and was always so excited if I got to go further North for any reason! I also love stationery - I think because it has so much potential - all those things I could make, write, organise... :)
