Episode 2 of the Podcast!

Yesterday was such a lovely sunny but crisp autumn day, just the way I like 'em :) I also found that I had the house all to myself as my girls went off to do a bit of shopping in the afternoon. What's a girl to do? Well, I thought I would record a short podcast to chat about all things knitty and about an exciting new business venture I am about to jump into.

After recording my first podcast months ago, I have to say that the whole process of editing and the hours it took to upload really did not inspire me, but this time round I decided to take a more relaxed view. I wasn't going to be too fussed about turning out this BBC-like production (not that I did in the first one but you know...the intention is always for perfection :D ), and secondly, I think shorter podcasts work better for me - less editing needed and shorter uploading time.

Anyhoo, here it is, episode 2 of my podcast.

Have a lovely Thursday all...

  2. Lovely as the background music is, I found it difficult to hear you speaking.

    1. Hi Joyce, sorry about that. You can actually switch the music off by pressing the pause button at the top of my page or you can watch the video on the Youtube site itself. However, I have removed the playlist from my blog as it think it's about time - it was beginning to annoy me whenever I went up LOL ;)

  3. Hello Shirley, I finally found an afternoon to sit down with my cup of tea and your podcast🙂
It felt like I was just across the table from you and I really enjoyed "our" chat! I hope that you will post some photos of Bonfire night, we used to have a similar party when I was growing up in England. My mother always made treacle toffee for that night-a once a year treat! Your knitting has really inspired me, and I have just finished a project ( the Outlander shawl from Ravelry) so I am looking for a new pattern. Here I am in Norway, so it's time I tried some mittens! I was also interested to hear about your daughters course and future plans. My 16 yr old daughter has just started studying art, design and architecture at college. I had no idea there were courses in illustration, specifically. (in her earlier years I was able to homeschool her and she loved keeping her nature journal - I shall never forget when someone asked her what she wanted to be "when she grew up" she solomnly replied that she wanted to be the person who worked in the museum drawing all the bugs!
Well, I have an embroidery nearly finished ( the Autumn hoop from Bustle and Sew) but I do think a trip to the wool shop is due. Are you able to give me the name/ number of the pattern for the mittens please, so I don't need to rewind you! ( Thinking of which, my daughter also suffered the skein winding torture for my shawl, so she would appreciate your daughters sentiments😉) Pancakes for supper next. Do you recall the Mrs Pepperpot story about them? It's so very Norwegian.

    1. Hello Gill, what a delight it was to read your comment! You had me smiling all the way though :D
I love Bustle and Sew patterns! She is so creative and talented. I remember her starting up her business a few years ago, she's done so well hasn't she?
The mittens are called 'Christmas Rose' and they are Drops design. You can download the pattern for free off Ravelry. Here's the link: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/0-871-christmas-rose
They have some beautiful designs so be sure to look through them all ;)

Thanks for your lovely comment, have a lovely weekend.
      X Shirley
PS - Norway!! It's on my bucket list of places to visit ;)
